HAMDEN, Conn. - Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) dished out 19 assists and Tracy Wright (Fair Lawn, N.J.) added 10 digs, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated by NEC leader Sacred Heart, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at the Burt Kahn Court. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 6-19 (4-7 NEC), while the Pioneers won their 19th straight match to improve to 24-4 (12-0 NEC).
The Pioneers won the first set, 25-19, and got three points better in each of the final two sets, taking the second 25-16, before clinching the match with a 25-13 win in the third.
Amanda Armstrong (Waukesha, Wis.) had a team-high eight kills, while Olivia Grattan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) added seven kills and a team-high four blocks.
The Bobcats return to action Saturday, when they travel to Loretto, Pa., to take on Saint Francis (Pa.). First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. at DeGol Arena.
