MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.) had a team-high six kills and seven digs, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated by Robert Morris, 3-0, in a Northeast Conference match Sunday afternoon at the Sewall Center. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 6-21 (4-9 NEC), while the Colonials improve to 15-16 (12-2 NEC).
After winning the first set, 25-9, the Colonials won the second, 25-13. Robert Morris clinched the match with a 25-22 win in the third.
Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) dished out 20 assists for the Bobcats, while Olivia Grattan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had five kills and two blocks for Quinnipiac.
The Bobcats return to NEC action Wednesday, when they play host to Bryant. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Burt Kahn Court.
