Women's Volleyball Announces 2012 Schedule
The Quinnipiac University Department of Athletics has released the 2012 women’s volleyball schedule, a season that consists of 32 matches. In search for its ninth Northeast Conference Tournament appearance, the Bobcats are scheduled for 13 games at Burt Kahn Court. The slate is also complete with four early-season tournaments, including the second annual Quinnipiac/Hartford Invitational in mid-September.

Women's Volleyball Granted 2011 NEC Team Sportsmanship Award
The Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team was granted the 2011 Northeast Conference Fall Team Sportsmanship Award, announced on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 by the league office. Joining the Bobcats with selections were Monmouth (women’s cross country and football), LIU Brooklyn (men’s soccer) and Fairleigh Dickinson (women’s soccer), St. Francis (NY) men’s cross country) and Saint Francis (Pa.) (field hockey).

Women's Volleyball Drops Season Finale To St. Francis (Pa.), 3-0
The Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team concluded its 2011 campaign on Sunday afternoon, as the Bobcats dropped their season finale to St. Francis (Pa.), 3-0 (25-16, 25-20 and 25-21), in Loretto, Pa. at DeGol Arena. The QU women’s volleyball program says farewell to three tremendous senior-class members, Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.), Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) and Brittany Garrett (Ossining, N.Y.), who have now played in their final collegiate volleyball match.

Women's Volleyball Falls To Robert Morris, 3-0
Sophomore Tracy Wright (Fair Lawn, N.J.) registered a game-high 16 digs on Saturday afternoon, but the Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team dropped a Northeast Conference road match to Robert Morris at the Charles L. Sewall Center. The Colonials won three straight sets (25-9, 25-20 and 25-7) en route to their 15th win of the season.

Women's Volleyball Celebrates Senior Day; Falls To FDU, 3-0
Seniors Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.), Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) and Brittany Garrett (Ossining, N.Y.) were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the women’s volleyball program on Sunday afternoon, as the Bobcats faced off against Fairleigh Dickinson on Senior Day at Burt Kahn Court. The Knights defeated QU by a final score of 3-0 (25-18, 25-20 and 25-20), the final home match for the three senior-class members.

Women's Volleyball Drops Home Match To Sacred Heart, 3-0
The Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team welcomed the NEC’s second place team, Sacred Heart University, to Burt Kahn Court for a conference affair on Friday evening. The Pioneers collected 38 kills and nine blocks in the match, as SHU claimed a 3-0 (25-16, 25-14 and 25-13) victory in the Bobcats’ second to last regular-season home game.

Women's Volleyball Outlasted By Central Connecticut, 3-2, In NEC Thriller
Junior Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.) and sophomore Olivia Grattan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) led the Bobcats with 11 kills each on Sunday afternoon; however the Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team could not hold off a late charge by Central Connecticut State University. The Blue Devils rallied off three consecutive victories en route to a, 3-2 (27-25, 27-25, 17-25, 15-25 and 12-15), victory at Burt Kahn Court.

Women's Volleyball Hosts Dig Pink Game Against Bryant On Saturday, Oct. 23 At 2 PM
The Quinnipiac women’s volleyball team will host Bryant on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. for its annual Dig Pink event at Burt Kahn Court. The event helps to raise money for breast cancer awareness through the Side-Out Foundation. On Sunday, Oct. 30, Quinnipiac will also host Central Connecticut State at 2 p.m.

Women's Volleyball Claims 3-0 Sweep At St. Francis (N.Y.)
Freshman Tierra Allen (Sumter, S.C.) led all Bobcats with 11 kills on Sunday afternoon, as the Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team bounced back with a vital 3-0 (27-25, 26-24 and 25-23) win against St. Francis (N.Y.) at the Genovese Center in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. QU surpassed the 40-plus kills mark for the fifth time this season and attacked at a .241 clip, the highest percentage of the campaign.

Four members of the Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team registered six or more kills on Saturday afternoon, but the Blackbirds of Long Island University were too much for the Bobcats, as LIU handed QU a 3-0 (25-23, 25-12 and 25-20) loss at the Wellness, Athletic and Recreation Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Two Matches Away From Home Next For Women's Volleyball
Following a twinbill split this past weekend at home, the Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team will travel to New York for their next set of NEC games. On Saturday, October 22, the Bobcats stop in Brooklyn, N.Y. for a match against Long Island University at the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center. The following day, the Bobcats wrap up the weekend against St. Francis (N.Y.) at the Genovesi Center in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. Both contests are scheduled for 1 p.m.

Freshman Brittanie Robinson (Fresno, Calif.) led the Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team with a team-high 11 kills on Sunday afternoon, but the Bobcats fell in four sets (28-30, 12-25, 25-22 and 12-25) to Robert Morris University at Burt Kahn Court.

Women's Volleyball Powers Past St. Francis (Pa.), 3-0
In front of over 1,000 fans at a jam-packed Burt Kahn Court, the largest home crowd in program history, the Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team knocked off St. Francis (Pa.) in straight sets, 3-0 (25-18, 25-22 and 25-23) on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats used a balanced attack that featured seven players with at least one kill in the match. On the other side of the net, QU held the Red Flash to a minute .104 attacking percentage.

The Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team was defeated by NEC power Sacred Heart on Sunday afternoon at the William H. Pitt Center in Fairfield, Conn. The Pioneers swept the match in straight sets (25-11, 25-10 and 25-9), improving to 10-7 all-time against Bobcats.

Women's Volleyball Falls On The Road To Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-1
Sophomore Olivia Grattan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was three kills shy of a season-high on Saturday afternoon, but the Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team was defeated by Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-1 (13-25, 16-25, 25-17 and 23-25), at Stratis Arena. The Bobcats nearly mounted a comeback after dropping the first two sets, but surrendered a closely played fourth set and were unable to force a deciding game.

Women's Volleyball Drops NEC Match To Long Island, 3-0
Senior setter Kayla Lawler (Richmond, Ind.) dished out a team-high 20 assists on Sunday afternoon, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-15, 25-21 and 25-13) decision to Long Island University at Burt Kahn Court. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 2-15 on the season and 1-3 in the Northeast Conference. The Blackbirds collected their fourth consecutive triumph and improved to 9-10 overall, 4-1 in the league.

The Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team plays their first two home Northeast Conference matches of 2011 this weekend with a pair of afternoon showdowns. The Bobcats host the St. Francis (N.Y.) Terriers on Saturday, and the Long Island Blackbirds on Sunday. Both matches begin at 2 p.m. at Burt Kahn Court on the Mount Carmel Campus of Quinnipiac University.

Women's Volleyball Stifles Comeback, Defeats St. Francis (N.Y.), 3-2
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team won its first Northeast Conference match of the season with a 3-2 victory against St. Francis (N.Y.). The Bobcats won the first two sets, before the Terriers bounced back with wins in the third and fourth sets. Quinnipiac held off the St. Francis comeback bid with a 16-14 win in the final set.

Freshman Krista Bennett (Scottsdale, Ariz.) set a new career-high with 18 digs, and sophomore Tracy Wright (Fair Lawn, N.J.) added 22 digs, but the Quinnipiac women’s volleyball team was swept by Bryant, 3-0, at the Chace Athletic Center on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 1-14 overall, and 0-2 in Northeast Conference play. The Bulldogs improve to 6-11 overall, and 1-2 in the NEC.

Women's Volleyball Defeated In NEC Opener, 3-1, By Central Connecticut State
Senior Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) recorded her 3,000th career assist, and freshman Tanner Celestin (Norco, Calif.) posted a career-high 14 kills, but the Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team fell to Central Connecticut, 3-1, in the Bobcats’ 2011 Northeast Conference opener on Sunday afternoon at Detrick Gymnasium. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 1-13 on the season, and 0-1 in NEC play. The Blue Devils improve to 10-5 overall, and 2-0 in the NEC.

With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 1-12, while the Wildcats improve to 1-12.

The Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball teamwill co-host the Yale/Quinnipiac Tournament on Friday, Sep. 16 and Saturday, Sep. 17. The Bobcats will host Army on Friday at 7 p.m., before traveling to Yale for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday. The tournament concludes for Quinnipiac on Saturday at 7 p.m., when the Bobcats host New Hampshire. In addition the Quinnipiac match, Yale will host New Hampshire on Friday at 7 p.m., and wrap up their part of the tournament with a 7 p.m. match on Saturday against Army.

Senior Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) had 21 assists, and sophomore Tracy Wright (Fair Lawn, N.J.) recorded 17 digs, but the Bobcats fell to Hartford, 3-0, Sunday afternoon on the campus of the University of Hartford. The match concluded the three-day Quinnipiac/University of Hartford Invitational. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 1-9, while Hartford improves to 6-6. Both Lawler and Wright were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Carmel campus of Quinnipiac University. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 1-8 on the season, while the Hornets improve to 1-7.

Senior Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) and freshman Tierra Allen (Sumter, S.C.) each totaled a team-high 13 kills to lead the Quinnipiac women’s volleyball team to a 3-2 win against La Salle in front of a capacity crowd at Burt Kahn Court on the Mt. Carmel Campus of Quinnipiac University. With the victory, the Bobcats improve to 1-6, while La Salle falls to 2-8.

The Quinnipiac University volleyball team will co-host the first-ever Quinnipiac/University of Hartford Tournament on Friday, Sept. 9 and Saturday, Sept. 10. Delaware State, La Salle and Navy will come to the Nutmeg State for the two-day tourney, to be held at legendary Burt Kahn Court on the Mt. Carmel Campus of Quinnipiac University.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) had a team-high 12 kills and Tierra Allen (Sumter, S.C.) added 11 kills, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team fell to Maryland and Virginia Commonwealth, both by 3-0 margins, on the final day of the Maryland Invitational. With the losses, the Bobcats fall to 0-6 on the season, while the Terrapins improved to 2-3 and the Rams moved to 2-4.

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University volleyball early season tournament action at the Maryland Invitational this weekend. The Bobcats will face Xavier on Friday at 4:30 p.m., before taking on the host Terrapins at 12:30 p.m. and Virginia Commonwealth at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Senior setter Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) had 33 assists, 12 digs and three service aces on the day, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated by Loyola Marymount and Cal St. Fullerton, both by 3-0 scores, in the Loyola Marymount Invitational on Saturday. With the losses, the Bobcats fall to 0-3 on the season, while the Lions improved to 2-0 and the Titans moved to 1-2.

No. 11 UCLA Sweeps Volleyball, 3-0
Senior setter Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) had 14 assists and freshman defensive specialist Krista Bennett (Scottsdale, Ariz.) added 10 digs, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team fell to nationally-ranked No. 11 UCLA, 3-0, in the season opener for both teams Friday evening at the Loyola Marymount Invitational. The Bruins took the first set, 25-11, before the second and third became increasingly competitive, with 25-16 and 25-19 results, respectively. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 0-1, while the Bruins improve to 1-0, winning their 13th consecutive season opener.

The Quinnipiac University volleyball team opens the 2011 season Friday when it travels to Los Angeles, Calif., to take part in the Loyola Marymount Invitational. Also taking part in the tournament, in addition to the Lions and Bobcats, are UCLA and Cal St. Fullerton.

Volleyball Picked Eighth In NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Northeast Conference’s coaches have selected the Quinnipiac University volleyball team to finish eighth in the league in the annual preseason coaches’ poll, the league office today announced. The Bobcats look to improve on a 6-24 record, including a 4-12 mark in conference play in 2010.

Volleyball's Payne and Armstrong Complete Coaching Positions This Summer
Quinnipiac University volleyball junior Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.) and former Bobcat Amanda Armstrong (Waukesha, Wis.) were named to the Iroquois Empire High Performance coaching staff this past summer. Pre-tournament training took place at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y. Payne coached the Youth National Team at the training camp, while Armstrong coached the Select team at the camp and also coached the team at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships in Tucson, Ariz.
