SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Freshman Krista Bennett (Scottsdale, Ariz.) set a new career-high with 18 digs, and sophomore Tracy Wright (Fair Lawn, N.J.) added 22 digs, but the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team was swept by Bryant, 3-0, at the Chace Athletic Center on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 1-14 overall, and 0-2 in Northeast Conference play. The Bulldogs improve to 6-11 overall, and 1-2 in the NEC.
Senior Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) recorded 18 assists on the night, and added two service aces, adding to her NEC lead with 28 on the season. Senior Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) recorded nine digs, leaving her 45 shy of 1,000 for her career.
The Bobcats fell in the first set, 25-20. Bryant took the second set, 25-16, before closing out the match with a 25-10 victory in the third.
Quinnipiac returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 1, when the Bobcats host St. Francis (N.Y.) at Burt Kahn Court. Play is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
