David Cyr joins the Quinnipiac women’s volleyball coachingstaff for his first season in 2012 as a volunteer assistant coach.This represents Cyr’s first Division I coaching position ashe brings great leadership qualities as well as a wealth ofcollegiate playing experience.
Cyr is a 2006 graduate of the University of Connecticut,majoring in psychology. During his time at UConn, Cyr walked-on tothe men’s basketball team, a tradition power within the BIGEAST conference. He has since went on to volunteer coach forBlockheads Volleyball Camps/Clinics, was an assistant coach forTyrrell Middle School girls’ volleyball team (who wentundefeated one season), and was a five year coach/player forOxford’s Golden Eagles Special Olympics volleyball team.
He has held an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapistposition since 2010 in which he works with one to three studentsfrom preschool to high school. He works with a variety of studentswith varying levels of autism and learning disabilities.
He currently resides in Oxford, Conn.
