Kevin Sokolski begins his first season with theQuinnipiac University women’s basketball team.
He spent seven seasons working with the men’sice hockey team, serving as team manager and overseeing all videoresponsibilities, including video exchange and breakdown of gamefilm over the course of each season. He was also instrumental inplanning and coordinating of travel accommodations while on roadtrips, consisting of hotel reservations, transportationrequirements, and team meals and coordinating ticket requests forall contests. Sokolski also supervised team managers at practiceand home competitions.
Sokolski has also works with the Connecticut Sun ofthe Women’s Nationals Basketball Association (WNBA) as a WNBAMedia Assistant since the summer of 2006. There he assistsfull-time staff in game day operations and player interviews,compiles game notes and distributes stats to media outlets.
He also has been a freelance writer for the New HavenRegister since 2007, and the United States College HockeyOnline.com (USCHO.com) since 2006.
Sokolski graduated from Quinnipiac in 2007 with abachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration inbroadcast journalism and a minor in psychology. He also completedwork toward a master’s degree in journalism in 2009 and amaster’s degree in public relations in 2010.
He has been involved in volunteer work as well. Hehelped to raise $30,000 for St. Baldrick’s Children’sCancer research and aided a $9,000 donation for Autism Speaks.
A native of Rocky Point, N.Y., Sokolski now lives in Hamden.
