Hamden, Conn. -Quinnipiac women's cross country's Becca White (Natick, Mass.) and Amanda Faust (Macungie, Pa.) were honored by the Northeast Conference for the second consecutive week on Tuesday, October 12. White was named the NEC Player of the Week for the third time this season, while Faust was awarded her fourth career NEC Rookie of the Week honor.
Both runners led Quinnipiac to a fifth place finish at the New England Championships held in Boston, Mass. on Saturday, Oct. 9. The Bobcats ran the 5k course amongst 47 other collegiate teams and finished with a total of 207 points.
White was Quinnipiac's top finisher at the New England Championships, with a personal best time of 17:54. The sophomore finished eighth overall amongst the 322 runners participating in the varsity race. This was Quinnipiac's fourth straight meet paced by White this season.
Faust was named the NEC Rookie of the Week after finishing third among Quinnipiac runners at the New England Championships. The freshman finished in 51st place overall with a time of 18:50, beating out all other NEC freshmen from Bryant, Central Connecticut State and Sacred Heart.
The Bobcats will compete at the CCSU Mini-Meet on Friday, Oct. 22. The race will be held at the Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Conn. and is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
