Women's Cross Country Finish Second At CCSU Invitational

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's cross country team finished second out of ten teams at the CCSU Blue Devil Invitational held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Stanley Quarter Park. The Bobcats finished ahead of Northeast Conference opponents Monmouth, Sacred Heart, Central Connecticut and Bryant with a total of 52 points.

"Overall the women ran with confidence and control today," said Head Coach Carolyn Martin. "There is a positive energy that's going to carry them through the season."

Sophomore Becca White (Natick, Mass.) led the Bobcats finishing in third place overall at 17:57. Finishing in eighth place was senior graduate student Kristen Stevens (Succasunna, N.J) with a time of 18:18. The Faust triplets crossed the finish line next for the Bobcats. In tenth place was freshman Amanda Faust (Macungie, Pa.) at 18:27, followed by her sisters Brianna at 18:32 and Christina at 18:42.

The Bobcats host their first meet, the Quinnipiac Invitational, at the Quinnipiac Cross Country Course in Hamden, Conn. on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 11 a.m.
