HOLMDEL, N.J. – The Quinnipiac women’s cross country team won the 17th Annual Monmouth Invitational on Saturday morning. The Bobcats competed against a total of 16 teams and took the first-place finish with 43 points. Sophomore Becca White (Natick, Mass.) paced Quinnipiac on the 5k course as she placed fourth overall in 18:29.
“I was really pleased with the women today and saw a lot of good performances overall,” said head coach Carolyn Martin. “It was great to see them pack up so well and I think it’s really going to help us when we get to the championship meets later in the season. It was an exciting race to watch, especially to see a lot of the team up front.”
Senior Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) finished immediately after White, in fifth place with a time of 18:41.4. Finishing third for the Bobcats and ninth overall was sophomore Amanda Faust (Macungie, Pa.), who crossed the line at 19:47.3.
