Women's Cross Country's Season Ends with 17th Place Result at NCAA Regionals; Best Finishing Place in NCAA Event Since 2009
In what amounted to another typical Quinnipiac women's cross country performance, filled with strong runners up and down the roster, the Bobcats landed themselves in 17th place at the NCAA Northeast Regional event from Van Cortlandt Park. All seven Quinnipiac competitors finished within the Top 150 overall and another standout day from freshman Niamh Ashe (East Islip, N.Y.) helped lead the way. The Bobcats amounted 516 points while the winner on the afternoon was Providence with 44 points.

12 Members of Women's Cross Country Named to MAAC All-Academic Team
A total of 12 members of the Quinnipiac women’s cross country team were named to the 2013 MAAC Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Team on Nov. 1, 2013. Quinnipiac was second behind only Marist in total student-athletes who earned the distinction.

Women's Cross Country Places Five Runners in Top 20 to Earn Second Place Finish in First Ever MAAC Championship
In typical Quinnipiac women's cross country fashion, the Bobcats displayed superior depth to finish second overall in their first MAAC Championship appearance on Friday from Van Cortlandt Park. Five Bobcats placed in the Top 20 while an incredible total of 12 Quinnipiac runners earned a spot within the first 41 finishers for the best average finish (24) of any team in competition today. Despite the incredible total team effort, the Bobcats were outdone by Iona who picked up their ninth straight MAAC title on Friday. The Gaels managed to place four runners in the Top 5 overall which proved too much for the Bobcat depth to overcome.

Eight-Time Defending Conference Champ Women's Cross Country Vies for First MAAC Title on Friday
A pair of eight-time reigning conference champs figure to go head-to-head on Friday as the Quinnipiac women's cross country team heads to Van Cortlandt Park for their first MAAC Championship. The Bobcats will be looking to make it nine straight conference titles having departed the Northeast Conference as the eight-time defending champion. Some stiff competition awaits however, as Iona comes into Friday as winners of the MAAC in eight straight conference championship meets. Both dominate teams in their separate conferences, both Iona and Quinnipiac have beaten the runner-up team by an average of over 30 points in the eight-year span.

Women's Cross Country Places 7th (out of 15) at CCSU Mini Meet; Class of 2014 Honored for Senior Day
A host of nine Quinnipiac women's cross country seniors were honored before Friday's CCSU Mini Meet for Senior Day before the team placed 7th out of 15 teams in a slimmed down 3k race. Fittingly enough, all six of the Bobcats' top finishers for the meet are members of the Class of 2014. Senior Jessica Soja (Simsbury, Conn.) was the top finisher, placing 7th overall out of 137 competitors to lead the Bobcats to 154 points. UMass Amherst was the top-finishing team with 78 points on the afternoon.

Niamh Ashe Takes Home MAAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
The captivating run Quinnipiac women's cross country freshman Niamh Ashe (East Islip, N.Y.) is on continues to impress as she earned MAAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Ashe has been a tireless competitor all season and was recognized for her first career weekly award after another sensation outing on Saturday.

Bobcats Finish 6th (out of 43) at New England Championships; Niamh Ashe (11th Overall) Finishes With All-New England Honors
The Quinnipiac women's cross country team continues to surge forward into their championship season as they finished an impressive 6th overall out of 43 teams in the New England Cross Country Championships. Racing from Franklin Park in downtown Boston, the Bobcats' freshman Niamh Ashe (East Islip, N.Y.) posted an 11th place finish out of 283 competitors to land a spot on the All-New England team. Quinnipiac recorded 193 points on Saturday to finish sixth while New Hampshire won the meet with 57 points.

Women's Cross Country Races to 20th Place Finish (out of 48 teams) in Paul Short Women's Gold 6k Run
The Bobcats continue to trend upwards as the Quinnipiac women's cross country team placed 20th (out of 48 teams) in the Paul Short Women's Gold 6k Run. It was freshman Niamh Ashe (East Islip, N.Y.) again leading the way for the Bobcats on Saturday as she crossed the line in 35th place, fifth-fastest among all the freshmen competitors. The Bobcats’ 20th place result was ahead of regional power Albany as Quinnipiac finished with 609 points while Georgetown University picked up the team victory with 112 points.

Women's Cross Country Places 3rd (out of 20) at Iona Meet of Champions; Niamh Ashe Finishes 7th for Top-10 Result
Another impressive outing from Quinnipiac women's cross country freshman Niamh Ashe (East Islip, N.Y.) carried the Bobcats (122 points) to a third place finish out of 20 teams at the Iona Meet of Champions from Van Cortlandt Park. This results marks the third straight Top-3 finish for the Bobcats to start the season as they placed behind Albany (67 points) and fellow MAAC foe Iona (100 points).

Jess Soja Honored as MAAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Quinnipiac women's cross country Jess Soja (Simsbury, Conn.) was named the MAAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013. This marks the first such award for Soja and the women’s cross country program as they continue their inaugural season in the MAAC.

Women's Cross Country Dazzles, Finishes Second at Nassaney Memorial Race; Bobcats Finish Ahead of No. 25 Boston College
It was a day to remember for the Quinnipiac women's cross country team as they put together a sensation team effort, placing second overall at the Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Race on Saturday. The Bobcats showed great depth, placing four runners in the Top-20 overall standings to claim the second place finish. Their 85 points were behind the University of Connecticut, who won the event with 46 points, but one spot ahead of No. 25 nationally-ranked Boston College (86 points).

Women's Cross Country Shows Superior Depth, Wins Stony Brook Invitational; Seven Bobcats Place in Top-15 Overall
Any residual effect from a long offseason were quickly put to rest for the Quinnipiac women's cross country team as they won the Stony Brook Invitational on Saturday. An incredible total of seven Bobcats placed in the Top-15 overall out of 68 total runners in the 4k event. The Bobcats compiled a total of 37 points with an average time of 15:41.97 to win the event over host Stony Brook, who finished in second with 45 points.

Quinnipiac's Cross Country Summer Challenge Results Posted
Quinnipiac University hosted its annual Cross Country Summer Challenge on Saturday, August 3 from the Mount Carmel campus. The 5k race was sponsored by the Woodbridge Running Company with a male and female division. The results have been announced as the top male and female finishers received gift certificates to the Woodbridge Running Company.

Women’s Cross Country Announces 2013 Schedule
Quinnipiac University Women's Cross Country head coach Carolyn Martin has announced the team's schedule for the 2013 season. The slate features six events prior to the MAAC Championships, the ECAC Championships and the NCAA Regionals in November.
