QU Women's Cross Country's 2014 Season Ends With 17th Place Result (out of 40 teams) at NCAA Northeast Regional
In what amounted to another typical Quinnipiac women’s cross country performance, filled with strong runners up and down the roster, the Bobcats landed themselves in 17th place (out of 40 teams) at the NCAA Northeast Regional event from the Van Cortlandt Park. All seven Bobcats placed with the Top 200 overall and another standout day from sophomore Niamh Ashe (East Islip, N.Y.) helped lead the way. The Bobcats amounted 575 points while the winner on the afternoon was Iona with 91 points.

QU Women's Cross Country Places Five Runners in Top 21 Overall to Earn 2nd Place at MAAC Championship
In typical Quinnipiac women's cross country fashion, the Bobcats displayed superior depth to finish 2nd overall in the 2014 MAAC Championship on Friday from Holmdel Park. Five Bobcats placed in the Top 21 overall while a pair of Bobcats in sophomore Niamh Ashe (East Islip, N.Y.) and freshman Kaleigh Roberts (Higganum, Conn.) both won All-Conference honors. Despite the incredible team effort, the Bobcats were outdone by Iona who picked up their 10th straight MAAC title on Friday. The Gaels managed to place all top five of their runners within the Top 9 overall which proved too much for the Bobcats' depth to overcome.

QU Women's Cross Country Places Nine on 2014 MAAC All-Academic Team
A total of nine members of the Quinnipiac University women's cross country team were named to the 2014 MAAC Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team, announced on Friday, October 31, 2014 by the league office.

QU Women's Cross Country Looks to Dethrone Iona at 2014 MAAC Championships on Friday from Holmdel Park
Last season the matchup pitted a pair of eight-time reigning conference champs against one another and unfortunately for the Quinnipiac women’s cross country team, the Iona Gaels prevailed with the 2013 MAAC title. This season, the Bobcats will be looking to exact a little revenge on their intraconference foes and get back to their winning ways established back in the Northeast Conference wherein Quinnipiac had won eight straight conference titles (2005-12). The Gaels, coming in as the nine-time defending MAAC Champion, provide some stiff competition but the Bobcats as well as the other nine league institutions have their sights set on the 2014 Championship.

QU Women's Cross Country and Track Alumni Alexandra "Sasha" Varanka Finishes 20 Seconds Shy of Olympic Marathon Qualifying Time
Former Quinnipiac women’s cross country and track and field student-athlete Alexandra “Sasha” Varanka ’09 competed in the 2014 Chicago Marathon and finished just 20 seconds shy of qualifying for the United States’ Olympics Trials. Her time of 2:43:19 in the Chicago Marathon nearly had her in range of the qualification standard time of 2:42:59 that is required for the Olympic Trials in the marathon.

Niamh Ashe Honored as MAAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
The career resume of Quinnipiac women’s cross country sophomore Niamh Ashe (East Islip, N.Y.) keeps growing stronger every week as she earns the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week award, as announced by the league office on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Ashe’s second career Runner of the Week honor and first of the 2014 season, serves as a stepping stone for what the Bobcats hope to be a strong showing in the MAAC Championship on Friday.

Niamh Ashe Leads QU Women's Cross Country to 7th Place (out of 20) at CCSU Mini Meet
Sophomore Niamh Ashe (East Islip, N.Y.) posted another dominant performance to lead Quinnipiac women's cross country to a 7th place finish (out of 20 teams) at the CCSU Mini Meet from Stanley Quarter Park on Friday afternoon. Ashe was backed by three other underclassmen as four of the five top finishers for Quinnipiac (226 points) were all either sophomore or freshmen Bobcat runners. Northeast powerhouse Boston College (52 points) claimed the victory amongst a tightly contested leaderboard that included other prestigous programs such as Providence (58), Yale (77) and New Hampshire (112).

Tracy Campbell Takes Home MAAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week Award
The amazing run for Quinnipiac women’s cross country junior Tracy Campbell (Wall Township, N.J.) was rewarded as she earned the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Campbell has been on a tear all season and was recognized for her first career Runner of the Week award after a career day on Saturday.

Tracy Campbell Paces QU Women's Cross Country to 8th Place Finish (out of 38) at New England Championships
Taking a quick glance at the leaderboard following a rain soaked day from Franklin Park, the Quinnipiac women's cross country team once again showed why their one of the deepest and most consistent programs year-in and year-out in the Northeast. The Bobcats successfully executed their game plan with two separate packs of runners as the team inspired effort helped Quinnipiac score an 8th place finish at the New England Championships on Saturday. New Hampshire claimed the Championship in runaway fashion as the Wildcats finished with 61 points, 101 fewer points than the runner-up Middlebury.

QU Women's Cross Country Takes 23rd Place out of 38 Teams at Paul Short Run
Running amongst the most talented crop of teams the Bobcats will compete against all season, the Quinnipiac women's cross country team showed well with a 23rd place result out of 38 teams in the Women’s Gold event at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University. Two Bobcats earned results in the Top 100 as three different packs of Quinnipiac runners helped combined for the result on Saturday. The University of Guelph claimed the victory in the Women’s Gold event with 48 points while Georgetown (127), Florida State (145), Yale (202) and Cornell (230) rounded out the remainder of the top five.

Quinnipiac women's cross country freshman Emily Wolff (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Rookie of the Week for all races held from Sept. 15-21.

Five Bobcats Place in Top 10 to Lead QU Women's Cross Country to Monmouth Invitational Victory
The Quinnipiac women's cross country team showcased their superior depth on Saturday as the Bobcats captured the Monmouth Invitational victory from Holmdel Park. In what has now become a fixture within the women’s cross country program, Quinnipiac’s depth was on fully display in Saturday’s meet as five Bobcats placed in the Top 10 overall. For the day, Quinnipiac totaled 31 points which was more than double the day’s total for the second place finisher in Marist (71).

Niamh Ashe and Tracy Campbell Leads QU Women's Cross Country to 5th Place at Nassaney Memorial Race
The Quinnipiac women's cross country team placed fifth at the Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Race hosted by Bryant University on Saturday morning. The Bobcats' benefited greatly from the 2014 season debuts of sophomore Niamh Ashe (East Islip, N.Y.) and junior Tracy Campbell (Wall Township, N.J.) as the pair both placed in the Top 20 overall. Boston University finished first in the team standings with 45 points while Quinnipiac earned the fifth place result with 127 points.

Women's Cross Country Places 3rd in 2014 Season Opener at the Stony Brook Invitational
The Quinnipiac women's cross country team opened their 2014 season with a 3rd place finish at the Stony Brook Invitational. In a race dominated by the Bobcats' underclassmen contingent, six of the top seven finishers for Quinnipiac were freshmen runners including two first-year Bobcats (70 points) who each placed in the Top 10. The host Seawolves took first place with 19 points while Sacred Heart placed second with 56 points.

Women's Cross Country Tabbed Second in MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Quinnipiac women's cross country team was chosen to finish second in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced on Tuesday, Aug. 12. The Bobcats, just one year removed from finishing as the runner-up in their debut season in the MAAC, will look to dethrone the nine-time defending champions Iona in the conference championship meet at Holmdel Park on Oct. 31, 2014.

Quinnipiac Cross Country Summer Challenge Set for Saturday, August 2 on Mount Carmel Campus
Quinnipiac University will host its annual Cross Country Summer Challenge on Saturday, August 2, 2014, a 5k race that is sponsored by the Woodbridge Running Company. The event welcomes participants of all ages and abilities to embark on QU's scenic course on Mount Carmel Campus. The race will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Quinnipiac Women's Cross Country Announces 2014 Schedule
Quinnipiac University women’s cross country head coach Carolyn Martin has announced the Bobcats’ 2014 schedule. Quinnipiac’s schedule will consist of six meets leading up to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship on Oct. 31.
